Little Kai and little Gerda are the world's best friends. They play all day in their secret roof garden.
One day, winter comes swirling with snow and cold. When the snow has settled, Kai has disappeared without a trace! Little Gerda must embark on a dangerous journey to find her best friend, a journey that takes her ever further north – towards the kingdom of the northern lights, where the Snow Queen lives…
The Bergen Philharmonic Orchestra invites you to a musical fairy tale based on The Snow Queen by H.C. Andersen. Together with narrator Ingeborg Ekeland, we will take you to a world of talking crows, scary snow crystals, kind summer witches and inventive uses for dried cod. Along the journey you will hear music by, among others, Grieg, Ravel, Vivaldi, Tchaikovsky and Prokofiev.
