Season finale with a look back at the 20th century
In 2025 it will be 50 years since Dmitri Shostakovich passed away. Both he and Bergen's Harald Sæverud were very important voices in their time; artistic as well as democratic front figures, who today — unfortunately — have gained renewed relevance. This November evening we explore the exciting community between these two figures, who carried with them the legacy of both Bach and Bartók and brought it into our time.
In the program we enter Sæverud's rich world of slåtter og stev, presented by pianist and communicator Frode Skag Storheim . The concert then culminates with Shostakovich's mighty piano quintet in G minor , performed by musicians from the Bergen Philharmonic together with Aulaseriene's artistic director.
Welcome to the season finale in Universitsaulaen i Bergen!
