Edvard Grieg breathed the fresh air of western Norway into the symphony orchestra, creating a sound forever associated with the fjordland but cherished around the world.
No orchestra plays Grieg quite like the Bergen Philharmonic he once led as artistic director. Tabita Berglund conducts this smorgasbord of orchestral treats and gems from Grieg’s pen, some of them written just a stone’s throw from the concert hall that takes the composer’s name.
