Bruckners syvende symfoni
Bruckners syvende symfoni
Bruckner’s warmest, most emotionally-open symphony
Finnish composer Magnus Lindberg could be described as the finest orchestral craftsman of our time. Any new work by him is eagerly anticipated, which makes the world premiere of his new Concerto for Two Pianos a major event. The sensational Jussen brothers from Holland return to the Grieg Hall to introduce Lindberg’s new piece, commissioned by the Bergen Philharmonic Orchestra, to the world.
None of his works brought Anton Bruckner the joy and pride that his Symphony No 7 did. This is the composer’s most delicately etched symphony and his most instantly beautiful – a work that enshrines a heartfelt eulogy for the composer Richard Wagner but thrusts with excitement and changeability too.
Great friend of the orchestra Jukka-Pekka Saraste returns to Bergen to lead this performance of Bruckner’s warmest, most emotionally-open symphony.
