Ingrid Stensland is from Sandefjord. She started playing with the Bergen Philharmonic Orchestra as a long-term substitute in 2004, and joined fully in 2008.
She studied the cello at Østlandets Musikkonservatorium, Norwegian Academy of Music and Mozarteum in Salzburg. Before moving to Bergen, Ingrid had long-term engagements with the Orchestra of the Norwegian National Opera & Ballet, as well as the Oslo Philharmonic Orchestra, Stavanger Symphony Orchestra and Trondheim Symphony Orchestra.
As highlights in her musical career, Ingrid Stensland mentions performances of Wagner’s Ring Cycle at the Norwegian National Opera & Ballet and playing with Mariss Jansons and the Oslo Philharmonic during their week’s residency at Vienna’s Musikverein in 1997.
