Classical masterpieces with 160 children's voices.

Concert violinist Berit Cardas believes it is vital to learn classical music. Throughout the current school year, she has introduced huge classical works to ordinary fifth-graders at four schools in Bergen. The project culminates with two concerts in Grieghallen, where during their stage debut, 160 little stars will shine alongside the big ones.

– Most of all, I want the children to feel that passion inside for the music we are going to perform. To experience that bubbling feeling rising in their chest and to indulge in the urge to show off their discoveries, says Cardas.

A year of nerves, of learning Russian and other foreign lyrics, and many, many hours of rehearsing later, the 10-year-olds are ready. Together with the Bergen Philharmonic Orchestra and choir, the children will perform works such as Slave Chorus, Dies Irae, Hallelujah Chorus, and many more.

In the evening, the Goosebumps choir and the Bergen Philharmonic Orchestra are joined by pianist Charlie Albright. Albright reaps delight from audiences around the world for his technique, virtuosity and ability to communicate music, and will perform the festival's signature work, Grieg's piano concerto in A minor.

Welcome to a concert where goosebumps are guaranteed!
