Lene Lindquist

Lene Lindquist comes from Stokmarknes in Vesterålen. She started as a substitute with the Bergen Philharmonic Orchestra in 1999, and joined as a full member in 2005.

Mrs Lindquist studied with Per Øien and Ørnulf Guldbrandsen at The Norwegian Academy of Music in Oslo, and with William Bennett at The Royal Academy of Music in London.

Through her 14 years of freelancing Mrs Lindquist has played under many great conductors, among others Herbert Blomstedt, Mariss Jansons, Kent Nagano and Stanisław Skrowaczewski. She has many fond memories of playing in all of Norway’s professional military windbands. She also mentions winning a permanent job in the Bergen Philharmonic Orchestra as a career highlight.
