Hilary Foster, a native of Omaha, NE, joined the Bergen Philharmonic Orchestra in 2006. Ms Foster received a Bachelor of Music from Northwestern University as a student of Gerardo Ribeiro, and a Master of Music and the Artist Diploma from Boston University, as a student of Yuri Mazurkevich. She spent two summers studying at the Tanglewood Music Center.

Ms Foster was an active freelancer in Boston. In addition to being a substitute player for the Boston Symphony, the Boston Pops, the Boston Ballet and the Boston Lyric Opera, she was a member of the Springfield Symphony, the New England String Ensemble, the orchestra of Emmanuel Music, and was the Assistant Concertmaster of the Rhode Island Philharmonic. She has also taught violin at the Phillips Exeter Academy.

Ms Foster is married to Gregory Koeller who plays the bass in the Bergen Philharmonic and they spend their time trying to keep up with their two children. When she gets a few free moments, Hilary likes to go running or sit and enjoy life with a good coffee.
