The Bergen Philharmonic Orchestra is proud to present Artist in Residence Lise Davidsen, in an intimate recital of Nordic and German song.
The season’s artist-in-residence is one of the most significant emerging talents in the opera world and no stranger to Bergen. In 2015, the soprano Lise Davidsen won both the Queen Sonja Competition in Oslo and Plácido Domingo’s Operalia Competition at the Royal Opera House in London.
The Bergen Philharmonic Orchestra is proud to present Davidsen, who was born in Stokke and began her studies at the Grieg Academy in Bergen, in an intimate recital of Nordic and German song.
After works by Grieg and Sibelius tinged with sadness and joy, Davidsen and the pianist James Baillieu turn to the German repertoire in which the lyric dramatic soprano is fast making her name, and five songs by Johannes Brahms.
Don’t miss this chance to hear what one critic has described as the ‘majestic power and plush sound’ of Davidsen’s voice.
«Rarely has anyone made a bigger entrance in the Norwegian and international music scene. Those of us who have been fortunate enough to hear her "live", has been turned by the force and core of her voice, her sensitive musicianship and strong presence», Leif Ove Andsnes
